Dog Grooming Tips_Felica

With the current pandemic and the government tearing us a new one every week, it's hard to predict when the spas and saloons open again. I don't know about you, but I've had to trim my own hair and do my own mani-pedi, and by that, I mean clipping my nails. The number of orders online has been going up like the number of COVID -19 cases in India. I can't help it. My finger just keeps slipping to BUY NOW, because I can't see it clearly because my unibrow keeps getting in the way. If this is our state, what about our pets'? They're not even high maintenance. So, if you're not grooming them regularly, giving them a bath, brushing their teeth, clipping their nails, about once a month, you're just super lazy. My dog is judging you right now.

If you're still waiting for the pet spas to open or if you're sensible and don't want to pour all your money at something you can do very well by yourself, here are a few pet grooming essentials you'll need, and where you can get them.

Dog Brush

Before giving your dog a bath, it's vital to brush their coat to remove dirt and shed hear. Brushing your dog frequently reduces the amount of hair they shed, resulting in a shinier coat. Additionally, dogs enjoy this activity, so why not watch TV with them curled up next to you while you brush them? Depending on the length of your dog's hair, you'll have to get the right toothed comb, and maybe even a detangling spray.

Dog Shampoo and Conditioner

Now that you've brushed off all the dirt, it's time to wash them. You'll obviously need shampoo and conditioner for this. Do not, at any cost, use our shampoo on them. The pH balance for dogs is different from ours.

Dog Shampoo

Good dog shampoo will remove dirt, unpleasant odor, kill bacteria, and get rid of dead skin cells. There are shampoos with essential oils catered to specific breeds. Some shampoos remove ticks and fleas. You even get dry shampoo now, so take your pick.

Conditioners, however, are optional. It is advisable to use conditioners for breeds with long hair as it becomes easier to comb them.

Nail Clippers

Clipping your dog's nails is vital. Not only is it painful for them if it gets caught in the carpet, but it also leads to joint pain as it affects their posture. Just make sure you don't trim too close to the toe as it can hurt them.

 Toothbrush and Toothpaste

Similar to shampoo, you cannot use our toothpaste on dogs. They have different body chemistry. You can just apply the toothpaste onto the brush, get your dog to lick it all, and then pull back their lips to brush each tooth gently.

Dog Treats

If your dog likes to be dramatic and throw tantrums, treats are your solution. If you give them a treat each time they behave, they're not going to disobey the next time you have to groom them. Bribing works with dogs y'all!

Grooming your dog is necessary for personal hygiene. It keeps them cleaner, happier, and healthier. Some dogs like the royal treatment they get. Some prefer jumping in puddles and rolling around in the mud. Choose the grooming products you think your dog needs from our selection so that it is insta perfect. Your dog will thank you for it. Maybe. I don’t know if your dog likes dressing up or not.
